Crusaders

Some folks don't like Crusaders in the Guard list, but I think there needs to be some capacity for hand to hand. Tack on a chaplain- pardon me, I meant "Ministorum Priest"- and load up in a Valkyrie, drop out to massacre some poor unsuspecting backline squad. They're well worth it; just don't expect them to go toe-to-toe with a Lord Of Skulls. *Shudders*. Those poor brave souls...

It's a shame about the individual dollar price, too. And for fifteen bucks a model, there's not much incentive to go full-GW on a squad of these chaps. But some knight models from other companies, sliced up, and a power sword spliced on? It works. Sort of. The local gaming group has no issues with them. Here's two of mine.

The male is a Reaper miniature, I think. Malcom Lightbringer, or somesuch, with a head from Warlord Games Bolt Action. The Panzer Grenadier kit, possibly. Power sword from a Space Marine set.

This dangerous young lady is one of the character models from Anvil Industries. Great company. I had to extend the banner pole with a length from the Cadian Command Squad's banner. I can't remember where the head's from. Statuesque, maybe? I don't normally go in for that forest green, but in this case it's a very cool contrast to the stark whites and deep reds.

These are the nicer ones... Painting white robes is a bear.

-Six out.
