Latest and greatest. My mate with the Steel Legion had an extra "Tempestus Command Rod" lying about, so we traded some bits.
Still needs some work on the base... And something about the pistol hand bugs me. I'll leave the pupperino off the base until both models are completely painted.
And then there's this cigar-chomping hard-case:
Space Marine bits aren't quiiiiiite the proper scale, but they're so much more ornate than the usual Guard-issue weapons. Besides, at arm's length -or on the tabletop- it doesn't look so awkward.
GW's contrast paints: they're not for me. They make grenades easy, though. Shame that the wash on the rest of the model messed up the thigh chevrons and the eagle on the chainsword.
